I'm not sure how to go about this review, other than to say it needs a lot of revision. The premise of the story is a good one. However, there needs to be more development of the characters and the pacing of the scenes. Example, too many times the story jumps from one place to another without warning. It can become confusing. I wouldn't recommend this story to anyone yet, as ut still needs a lot of work.

This is a great love story, a fresh spin on time-travel without the trashy sex talk. It's a novel both older women and teens can enjoy. Heck, even a guy could read the story for the action. So over vampire love, glad to have read something new.
Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. The story was compelling and I couldn't wait to find out how it ended. I enjoy a love story with a bit of history and a twist. I can't wait to see what miss Willis will come up with next.
In "A Dream to Keep" Cinthia Willis weaves a tantalizing tale of loyalty, romance, and entertainment. I had read Ms. Willis' first novel "Other Worlds Beckon" and although I found the story intriguing and highly entertaining, I was aware that it was her first book, and like all first-time endeavors she needed to improve on her writing skills just a little. Although she did show a hidden talent that few would-be authors are able to display in their first attempt at writing a novel. So, it was with great curiosity that I read "A Dream to Keep." And I'm very glad that I did. To say that Ms. Willis had endeavored to improve her skills at writing would be an understatement. She has become the consummate professional and has been able in a short time to improve her skills past that of many long term successful authors.
As I said before, this book is full of passion, but does not align itself with the romance novels that try to use shock effect to keep their readers entertained. Ms. Willis has managed to captivate a feeling of involvement, while at the same time portraying a story that you would not hesitate to let your daughter read. And, let me emphasize, this book and its plot are highly original, unique, and entertaining to read. Believe me, you will not be sorry for buying this novel.

This book needs a good editing but it's a great story over all. Civil war, time travel, ghosts, murders, and romance in one nice package.
